Fly-pack

Overview

The fly-pack is a hybrid device that combines controlled descent technology with limited short range flight capability originally designed for covert military insertions. It allows operatives to jump from aerial craft land with precision at a designated point and return to the recovery vehicle.

Design

The unit resembles a reinforced backpack with integrated grav plates and directional thrust modules. Its dual function includes

  • "Freefall descent", in which operators drop from high altitude and the grav plates neutralize terminal velocity ensuring a silent radar minimal approach
  • "Short range flight", in which micro rockets provide horizontal maneuvering rapid repositioning on the field and controlled return to the transport craft

Operation

The fly-pack maintains continuous flight power for a short time making it unsuitable for long distances but ideal for tactical entries. The device is silent under low thrust and emits only faint ionic traces when performing low altitude maneuvers.

Usage

Elite strike teams and execution units employ fly-packs for precision operations sabotage and covert actions in hostile environments. The combination of silent descent and tactical mobility has made them a hallmark of professional execution units.
