Liberal Alliance of Planets (LAP)

The Liberal Alliance of Planets (LAP) is a federation created to safeguard freedom and democracy against authoritarian regimes such as the Syndarion Union of Nations. Each member planet retains its autonomy but sends representatives to the Federal Council which makes decisions on common defense foreign policy and interplanetary trade. The alliance promotes liberal values tolerance and respect for individual rights.

Society

The societies of LAP member planets are pluralistic and open. Despite cultural and traditional differences the dominant ideals are cooperation and equality. Citizens enjoy broad freedoms even in member worlds with aristocratic or oligarchic systems. The LAP presents itself as an example of peaceful coexistence among diverse peoples.

Economy

The LAP maintains a strong and diversified economy. Cooperation among its member planets has created unified trade networks and free movement of goods. Some worlds specialize in agriculture others in industry or technology forming a balanced framework of mutual support. Research and innovation flourish within the alliance’s open spirit.

Military Forces

Although it promotes a peaceful image the LAP maintains strong armed forces to defend its members. The planets contribute personnel fleets and technology forming a unified Federal Army. Herman and Lako served in this force during the major conflict with the Syndarion Union of Nations.

Relations

Olmara and with it Lastor is an active member of the LAP in the region. The LAP attempts to keep communication channels open with the SUN yet hostility remains fundamental and constant since the authoritarian system of the SUN stands in complete opposition to LAP principles.

Culture and Values

The LAP embodies the values of freedom democracy and cooperation. Its culture is deeply multicultural with member planets exchanging traditions arts and languages. Education and science hold a central role reinforcing the collective identity of the alliance. Cultural and scientific conferences are held often serving as celebrations of unity.
