Syndarion Union of Nations (SUN)
Overview
The Syndarion Union of Nations (SUN) is an alliance of planets under the dominance of the Sorestian Empire. It is not a unified state but a union created to project collective political and military power. Most of its members are authoritarian regimes ruled by emperors kings generals or powerful families. Although the union operates through a high council where each planet has a representative the real policy is dictated by the strongest realms such as the Syndarion Empire and by the most militant leaders.
Society
Societies within the Syndarion are strictly hierarchical. The ruling classes enjoy wealth and privilege while the general population lives under harsh discipline and limited freedoms. In many worlds military values dominate daily life and citizens are trained from childhood in discipline and obedience. Dissent is suppressed through exile imprisonment or execution.
Economy
The economy relies on the exploitation of planetary resources and on interplanetary trade under military control. Heavy industry metallurgy and weapons technology form its core. Forced labor is common on some planets and conquered peoples are heavily taxed to strengthen the union.
Military Forces
The SUN maintains the largest fleets in the region. Member planets contribute troops ships and technology forming a war machine that unifies diverse worlds under central command. Military operations are ruthless and guided by the doctrine of absolute submission of the enemy by any means.
Relations
The SUN is considered an existential threat by the LAP since it is the common fear of all free nations. The SUN views the OTO as a major threat.
Culture and Ideology
Although cultural forms vary from world to world common themes dominate, strength obedience and supremacy. Art is often used as propaganda with monuments and statues that glorify generals and rulers. The ideology of the union promotes the right of the strong and the need for unity against weak and corrupt neighbors.
