Tanto
Overview
Tanto is a young Corper and the peda of the Judge, whom he accompanies on missions of enforcement and restoration of imperial order in distant and neglected worlds. He is still in training, yet already demonstrates combat proficiency, strong self confidence, and a commanding presence.
In contrast to the Judge, Tanto is more impulsive and openly arrogant, often expressing contempt for societies trapped in stagnation or forgotten feudal structures. He views the role of the Corp as a necessary force of pressure and coercion, believing that without decisive intervention such worlds cannot change.
He is fully trained in combat and weapons use, carrying a sword and a sareth rifle, while his armor and attire sharply distinguish him within primitive societies such as Hokari. His physical presence inspires fear and awe, elements he consciously employs to assert the authority of the Corp.
Despite his aggressive demeanor, Tanto obeys the Judge and recognizes his superior judgment, even when he disagrees with his philosophical views on progress and law. Their relationship reflects the contrast between youthful drive and mature understanding of power, law, and collective life.
Tanto represents the new generation of Corpers, tasked with balancing violence as a tool of enforcement and justice as the foundation of lasting change.
