Tetsu Soroyoto

Overview

Tetsu Soroyoto known as "the Great" is regarded as the founder of the Soroyoto dynasty and the first ruler who succeeded in uniting the fractured kingdoms of the early Crowns Age under a single authority. He was a warrior a commander and a leader of iron will who believed that unity was forged by the sword not by words. For his descendants he became a legend for his enemies a force of fear and for history a symbol marking the beginning of an era of imperial power.

Life and Deeds

Tetsu was born in an age where the seven Gods of the Heptad were worshipped separately in each kingdom and every ruler claimed divine protection for his throne. He grew up surrounded by wars alliances and betrayals and learned early that survival depended on strength.

He rose to the throne after years of brutal campaigns during which he crushed his rivals one by one conquering land after land. He did not recognize diplomacy only victory. He believed that "the God Orvan blesses the victor" and that the seven Gods of the Heptad grant their power to the one who does not fear to use it.

The union of the divided kingdoms that he achieved was seen as both miracle and curse. The people of his era called him "Father of Peace" but also "Butcher of the Seven Thrones".

He established the bloodline of the Soroyoto and introduced the first unified law that applied to the entire realm. He was the first to declare that authority was a divine gift but a throne must be held by the sword.

Legacy

The reign of Tetsu Soroyoto left behind a realm united but wounded. His cities prospered his fortresses endured for centuries and his name spread far beyond the boundaries of the world. Yet his legacy was sealed in blood.

His descendants revered him as the founder of the dynasty but also feared the example he set. He became a point of reference for every later Soroyoto. For Goro he was a model of strength for Makio a symbol of divine legitimacy and for Korin the starting point of the doctrine of obedience.

In the hall of ancestors his statue stands first in the line his gaze fixed forward as if he continues to lead even after death.

Character

Tetsu Soroyoto was harsh and unpredictable. He did not forgive he did not forget and he never hesitated. His soldiers revered him because he fought among them but they also feared him because his anger was sudden and absolute. He believed that power was not given freely by the gods but tempered in fire.

Legends describe him standing at the gates of the conquered city of Vareth among smoke and ash announcing the unification of the kingdoms. Since then every Soroyoto emperor swore an oath in his name before ascending the throne.
