Syndarion
Overview
The planet Syndarion stretches like a world blessed with tranquil balance. Its plains reach the horizon, sown with the sacred plants of Miravel. The moist air makes the fields ripple and the seasons change the colors of the land like the hand of a painter.
Mountains with dense forests cast dark shadows over deep ravines while rivers and lakes mirror the starlight at night.
Its seas, full of life, bring food and wealth to the coastal cities and the harbors buzz with sound, salt and commerce.
The landscape of Syndarion is a mosaic of fields, mountains, lakes and cities. On hilltops or small islands the old castles still stand, stone masses that recall the violence and insecurity of the first decades after colonization.
Syndora
The capital Syndora blends the grandeur of the past with the progress of the present. Its streets are filled with columns and domes, its public buildings adorned with statues of the seven gods and the bridges over the river are works of art.
At the same time plex and holocast fill the city with holographic images while skaff and orivan move silently among them.
History
On Syndarion arose the first imperial authority of the Soroyoto after the age of stars. From here began the unification of the aristocratic fiefdoms under the imperial throne.
On this planet were built the first great temples of the Heptad and the first laws were written on stone slabs that now stand as monuments in Syndora’s old market.
The landowning families that dominated the old era did not disappear, they simply changed their form. They replaced swords with shares and castles with administrative centers keeping their power alive through the corporations they control.
Society and Governance
Syndarion society rests on order, prestige and the continuity of the old houses. Although not a liberal polity like those of the LAP, surveillance is mild and discreet.
The kingdom’s ASG monitors activities, vehicle and plex logs record movements and conversations, but citizens do not live under the terror of repression. There are no scarab in the skies nor fenced control zones. Social discipline arises more from habit than from fear.
Economy and Lifestyle
The planet’s economy is based on agriculture, seafaring and the great family corporations that function like small states. The people of Syndarion do not live in excess but they know the comfort of a stable life. Aristocrats govern, workers work and all accept their place in the social hierarchy as something natural.
Political System
At the top of the kingdom stands King Kenaro Sorakami, a distant relative of the Soroyoto. Beside him stands the council of aristocrats that administers the country, yet its power is limited by the independent Order of Judges. The Judges, faithful to the old laws, form the moral backbone of the state and serve as a barrier to every abuse. Despite sporadic calls for reform most citizens prefer the order of the aristocracy.
The stability of Syndarion is considered a blessing and change a threat.
